What can you do to fade stretch marks?

Our advice to avoid them and reduce their appearance

Stomach, breasts, buttocks and thighs: when skin stretches rapidly, the support fibres (collagen and elastin) slacken and stretch marks appear. Also known as ‘striae’, these marks affect both women and men. So what can we do to fade stretch marks and stop them appearing in the first place? We answer all your questions.

1. Can you fade stretch marks completely?

From weight gain to pregnancy or growth: stretch marks appear when the skin can no longer adapt to changes in the body. These marks are actually scars which are initially purplish in colour and then gradually become white. When they are still coloured, and therefore at an inflammatory stage, it is possible to effectively reduce their appearance. However, this is more difficult with white stretch marks.

2.How can you avoid stretch marks?

Stretch marks affect most women and can sometimes be difficult to avoid. However, there are some solutions you can try to stop them appearing: nourish and moisturize your skin every day! The earlier you adopt this habit the better. Make this ritual a special moment with effective and sensorial products, such as Huile Prodigieuse® that will cloak your body in a captivating scent. This iconic multi-purpose care product encapsulating 7 precious botanical oils nourishes and replenishes the skin in a single step.

It is now available in a floral version, Huile Prodigieuse® Florale, or the Organic Huile Prodigieuse® Neroli for a personalised beauty moment. This elixir combines a selection of precious botanical oils to infuse the skin with a captivating glow while diffusing its moisturizing, nourishing and replenishing benefits. Helping to keep skin supple. In winter, or if you have very dry skin, choose Huile Prodigieuse® Riche for its fluid and generous texture.

3. How can you avoid stretch marks?

If, despite your best efforts, stretch marks do appear on your body, you can reduce their appearance by taking the following steps:

A weekly scrub

Exfoliation helps to remove dead skin cells and also boosts cell renewal. After using a scrub, always apply a moisturizer to soften your skin. For a truly pleasurable experience, cloak your skin in the Rêve de Miel® Deliciously Nourishing Body Scrub. This scrub delights the senses with its floral honey scent and its unique balm-in-oil texture gently exfoliates and nourishes the skin.

Adapt Your Skincare

While you can’t make stretch marks disappear completely using a cream, you can significantly fade their appearance. Once again, thanks to its many beneficial properties, Huile Prodigieuse® impresses with its effectiveness in reducing stretch marks. Scoring by a dermatologist has shown a reduction of 30% in their colour[1].

Massage your skin

Massaging your skin encourages absorption of your product and also stimulates collagen production. When you apply your cream, spend a little more time smoothing areas prone to stretch marks or kneading them to improve the skin’s appearance.

Protect your skin from the sun

The sun accelerates aging of the skin and can alter the colour of a recent stretch mark and make it even more visible. To avoid dehydration, and therefore loss of elasticity, and to prevent any deterioration in the appearance of stretch marks, apply a protective cream whenever you go out in the sun.
