Beauty Advice

How can you have beautiful lips at any age*?

Talking, laughing, smiling or even eating: just like the eye contour area, our lips have to work hard every day!

The skin around the lips is very thin too, so this is where the first signs of premature ageing appear, and the more time that passes, the more fragile and wrinkled the mouth contour becomes.

As well as being under constant stress, our lips are also exposed to external aggressions every day, including pollution, changes in temperature and dehydration.

To keep your lips looking luscious all year round, you need to care for them every day and adopt a few good habits.

So what should you do each day? We explain all!

1. The number one golden rule: hydration!

There’s no mystery, if you want full and plump lips you need to drink water!

Water is the body’s main source of hydration, so making sure you drink enough water to stay hydrated will help you to have beautiful, moisturised lips and avoid dryness as far as possible.

Keep sipping!

2. Nourish your lips with sticks and balms.

Even if you drink enough water, your skin can still feel dry in colder temperatures in winter, when we constantly move between warm and cold environments. To protect your lips from damage, carry a moisturising lip care in your bag wherever you go, such as the Rêve de Miel® Lip Moisturising Stick, and apply it as soon as your lips start to feel dry.

For very dry or damaged lips, or if you prefer rich textures, combine this with a very gentle nourishing balm based on honey and botanical oils, for example, the Reve de Miel® Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm. This concentrate of beehive treasures contains honey, propolis, beeswax and botanical oils to gently nourish even the most demanding lips.

Apply liberally during the day or apply a thicker layer in the evening to reap the benefits overnight. Its luscious and melting texture and natural scent with notes of grapefruit and lemon will make it an irresistible and comforting treat for your lips. For a guaranteed cocooning effect.

3. Use an anti-ageing lip contour care.

Despite our best efforts, the first signs of ageing inevitably start to show over time. We might notice little vertical lines, known as ‘bar code wrinkles’, caused by dehydration, dryness or ageing. It’s then time to add a targeted product to your skincare routine to reduce and fade these signs, such as the Nuxuriance® Ultra Lip Cream.

Apply morning and evening to the lip contour area for smoother lips.

4. Exfoliate your lips regularly.

Our skin renews and produces dead skin cells and, just like the rest of the body, our lips are no exception to this rule! So it’s useful, and even recommended, to exfoliate your lips once or twice a week.

Since exfoliation always goes hand in hand with moisturising, don’t forget to rehydrate your lips afterwards by applying your nourishing lip stick or repairing balm.

5. Apply a lip moisturising stick before your lipstick.

Finally, a tip for lipstick fans: apply a layer of Rêve de Miel® Lip Moisturising Stick before your lipstick to keep your lips moisturised at all times and help your lipstick last longer.

The moisturising effect of the stick will stop your lipstick from dehydrating your lips and creating little furrows for the colour to bleed into.

Don’t forget: like the rest of your face, your lips also need cleansing to remove any residual lipstick and other particles that have accumulated by the end of the day!
