What’s the difference between a tanning oil and a sunscreen lotion?

Tanning oil offers you a lightweight, silky texture. Easy to apply, it melts into your skin, dressing it in a satin finish. Oil also allows for the creation of protective hair care products. Sunscreen lotion has a richer, creamier texture. With the same SPF, an oil, lotion, or any other texture provides the same level of protection.

Do tanning oils help you tan faster?

Tanning is the skin's natural protective reaction to UV rays. The intensity of these rays can be increased by their reflection off water or snow, causing your skin to tan more as it defends itself. Some believe the glossy finish of tanning oil creates the same effect. Contrary to popular belief, a tanning oil does not promote a faster tan. It contains a filtering system that provides effective protection against UV rays, so you don't tan faster—quite the opposite.

How do you correctly apply tanning oil?

If you don't apply enough product, your tanning oil's protection level is significantly reduced. Remember that overexposure to the sun is dangerous and no sun product provides 100% protection. If you can, avoid the sun during peak hours.

Before sun exposure, apply your product generously. For the face, dispense the product into your hands before applying, avoiding the eye area. On the body, you can spray it directly before spreading it evenly.

Remember to protect your neck, the back of your knees, your ears, and the tops of your feet—areas that are highly exposed but often forgotten. If you're using a tanning oil for hair, shake the bottle then spray it from about 8 inches away onto your dry or damp hair. Reapply frequently, especially after swimming or towel‑drying.

Do sunscreen oils leave a greasy feeling on the skin?

Some tanning oils can leave a greasy finish, but not NUXE Sun! Our laboratory has developed lightweight, non‑sticky formulas. They glide onto the skin, absorb quickly, and leave your skin looking luminous.

NUXE Tanning Sun Oil High Protection SPF50 contains a patented filtering system effective against UVB, short UVA, and long UVA rays. NUXE Research has combined three organic filters and two esters to provide an average of twice the UVA protection required by European regulations**.

The Protective Moisturising Hair Milk contains two organic sun filters. Your hair is protected against UV rays, salt and chlorine.

This protection is suitable for very sun-sensitive skin, though it is best to avoid exposure when it is very hot or from 12 PM to 4 PM. It also accompanies sun-sensitive skin in moderate sun or intermediate skin when the sun is very strong.

Shimmering Sun Oil High Protection SPF 30

UVA/UVB and blue light protection with an illuminating texture is available in this SPF 30 version. Take this sun oil in your beach bag if you have sun-sensitive skin and the sunlight is low. Do you have intermediate skin? Your SPF 30 sun oil can be suitable up to moderate intensity. Sun-resistant skin types can use it in any condition.

In low to moderate sunlight, sun-resistant skin types can expose themselves safely with this oil.
