It's perfectly possible to choose products from different ranges in order to create a single customized routine. However, if you wish to treat a particular problem (lack of hydration, wrinkles, sagging skin, spots, shine, etc.), we recommend that you select your skincare products from a single range, generally formulated to act globally on the targeted problem.
- first, gently remove make-up from your skin
- follow with a thorough cleansing
- apply your lotion or toner (depending on your routine)
- apply your concentrate and/or serum (depending on your routine)
- gently pat into your eye contour area
- finish by applying your day or night cream to your face, with both hands flat, always working from the center outwards (avoiding the eye contour area). Don't hesitate to use it on your neck and décolleté too.
An eye contour treatment is a formula developed specifically for this fragile area. The skin around the eyes is particularly stressed (we blink almost 30,000 times a day), thinner than the rest of the face, and lacking in support fibers. As a result, it requires specially adapted skin care in terms of active ingredients, texture and fragrance. Choose your eye contour cream according to the problems you wish to treat (dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles, dehydration...) and apply it daily, preferably in the morning and evening.
A serum is a formula with a fluid, penetrating texture, concentrated in active ingredients to effectively treat certain problems, such as lack of hydration, uneven skin tone or sagging skin. It should be applied to clean skin, before day or night cream. Although it is generally more concentrated in active ingredients than a cream, it also serves to prepare the skin and reinforce the efficacy of your cream. These two products work in synergy, one not replacing the other. Using two serums in succession won't give you the comfort and hydration of a cream.
Moisturizing the skin at any age is the first essential step in preventing the appearance of wrinkles. From the age of 25, we recommend the use of antioxidant-rich multi-corrective skin care products, which will moisturize the skin while correcting the first fine lines. After 35/40, support fibers tend to become rarer, skin loses its firmness and wrinkles deepen. In this case, opt for anti-wrinkle and firming treatments. After age 50, opt for an all-round anti-ageing treatment that acts on wrinkles, sagging and loss of density.
Anti-aging skincare products act more or less specifically on the various signs of skin aging (1st signs of ageing, wrinkles, loss of firmness, sagging of the oval of the face, spots...). Anti-wrinkle products specifically target wrinkles.
Brown spots are hyperpigmentation of the skin. To prevent them, it's best to avoid excessive exposure to the sun, or to protect yourself from UV rays with a high SPF50 protection factor. To attenuate them, there are also anti-spot skincare products, which act by preventing their appearance and lightening the spots already present.
A night cream provides the skin with the active ingredients it needs to renew and detoxify itself during the night. The skin's needs vary according to the time of day. During the day, it is confronted with the aggressions of daily life (UV rays, pollution, stress...), and it is during our sleep that it regenerates itself. It's also a good time to use richer textures, as skin microcirculation is greater at night and skin is particularly receptive to treatments.
Double cleansing involves gently removing make-up and then cleansing your skin. The benefits are numerous and quickly visible. Better cleansed, your skin breathes and looks clearer, is better hydrated (better able to absorb skincare products) and marks less quickly.
Start by warming a few drops of an oily phase (ideally a make-up remover oil) between your hands and massaging into dry skin, with your eyes closed. This removes all greasy substances, such as sebum and make-up. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water before moving on to cleansing to remove other impurities such as pollution and sweat, thus perfecting the result. We recommend using a gentle cleanser (gel, foam or milk), applied to damp skin and rinsed thoroughly. In this way, you'll allow your skin to take full advantage of the treatments you apply afterwards, and maximize the effects of your beauty routine!
Make-up removal and cleansing are two complementary and essential steps for beautiful skin. Every evening, it's best to devote a few minutes to removing make-up and impurities (pollution residues and sebum) that have accumulated on the skin's surface over the course of the day. In the morning, this is also the first step in your beauty routine. Gently cleanse away excess sebum and sweat, to prepare your skin to receive other treatments.choose your make-up remover and cleanser according to your preferences and skin type, complementing your complexion's luminosity with a gentle exfoliation with a peeling lotion in the evening, for example.
Cleansing every evening is essential to keep skin fresh and clear. Depending on your preferences, you can remove make-up either with a cotton pad (using a micellar water or milk), or with your fingers using an oil or balm, which should then be rinsed off.rinse-off formulas are ideal if you like to remove make-up with water or in the shower. If you're in a hurry or don't want to suffer the drying effects of limescale, opt for a no-rinse micellar water. Finally, oils and milks are particularly suitable if you have dry skin and/or are looking for a high level of comfort. As a final step, remember to apply a lotion or toner to complete your make-up removal!
Lips lack a protective hydro-lipidic film and are therefore easily dehydrated. It's important to apply moisturizing lip care products every day. We offer 3 products specifically designed for lip care:Rêve de Miel moisturizing lip stick, which moisturizes, repairs and protects lips every day. Practical to take with you, it provides close-up protection for dry or damaged lips. Baume hydratant lèvres à la rose, Very Rose, moisturizing and sublimating, for dry to very dry lips, illuminating them with a delicate rosy glow. Ultra-Nourishing and Repairing Lip Balm, Rêve de Miel, soothes, nourishes and repairs. It's the darling of ultra-dry or damaged lips. Note that our balms can also be used as night masks, by applying a more generous amount to the lips before bedtime.
Ideally, we recommend using a mask once or twice a week. Be sure to follow the application and rinsing times indicated on your product. See all our face masks.
Face masks are occasional treatments that complement the usual routine, designed to be applied in a thick layer and left on for a certain length of time (several minutes, or even overnight, depending on the product's instructions for use). Whether gels, creams, fabric or cellulose masks, they deliver intense, immediate action on specific skin concerns. Dehydration, shine, lack of radiance... choose the mask best suited to your current needs. NUXE tip: alternate them to combine their benefits. Find all our masks.
Visit oils are ideal for gently removing make-up from the face and eyes. Oils dissolve make-up residues (made up of fatty substances), which are then removed by rinsing. Oils specifically formulated for this purpose are known as make-up remover oils. They are particularly effective at removing even the most stubborn (waterproof) make-up, and have the advantage of rinsing off easily, leaving skin soft and comfortable with no residual greasy film.
Exfoliating means removing dead surface cells to stimulate skin renewal. Regular exfoliation leaves skin smooth, soft and radiant, ideally prepared to benefit from subsequent skin care products. We recommend exfoliating once or twice a week (especially before applying your mask, to optimize its effects). For a more gradual exfoliation, there are also peeling lotions to be applied daily in the evening, before your cream.
During the cold season, lips are easily prone to dryness, tightness, irritation and chapping. So it's essential to moisturize and protect them effectively every day in winter. To keep your skin soft and your mouth irresistible when temperatures drop, take good care of your lips. Avoid moistening them with your tongue and matte lipsticks, don't neglect them when removing make-up, and drink plenty of water. In the morning and evening, opt for a lip care product containing honey, an oil or a soothing balm, to soften and repair dry, fragile lips. During the day, don't hesitate to keep a stick handy to reapply as often as necessary. Before going to bed, use your nourishing balm as a mask, following the instructions for use.
Often put to the test, your lips can become very dry or irritated. Before applying a moisturizer, remove all traces of dead skin from your lips with a gentle, natural lip scrub. Massage your lips with your index finger in light circular movements, then rinse thoroughly with a damp cotton pad. Exfoliate your lips to prepare them for treatment, but don't exfoliate more than once a week to avoid making them even more fragile, then apply a repairing lip care product specially designed for very dry, damaged lips several times a day. In the evening, before going to bed, don't hesitate to apply a thick layer for a real "bandage effect".
Oily skin occurs when too much sebum is produced. It then becomes covered with an oily, shiny film. It also tends to have dilated pores. The specific features of this type of skin are not just aesthetic. The overproduction of sebum also creates a favorable environment for the appearance of imperfections. When pores become clogged, blackheads appear. Under these conditions, propionibacterium acnes, a bacterium naturally present on the skin, proliferates. Oily skin is therefore more prone to blemishes and pimples. An oily skin care product will help your skin regain its balance.
With a few simple gestures, you can create an oily skin care routine that combats both excess sebum and imperfections.
Make-up removal: this first step is crucial for oily skin. Use a gentle water-based make-up remover to remove impurities, make-up and excess sebum without aggressing your skin. Micellar water may be just the thing.
Cleansing: regular cleansing is essential to free the skin of impurities. Purifying cleanser is a must for oily skin. Use it in the evening, after cleansing. If you're particularly prone to imperfections, morning cleansing is also recommended. Select a gentle cleanser to avoid aggressing the skin. An aggressive gel cleanser could have the opposite effect to that intended.
The serum: thanks to its light formula, a serum can meet your skin's specific needs. For example, it can provide antioxidants or a moisturizing action thanks to hyaluronic acid. Also consider astringent lotions to tighten pores and refine skin texture.
Moisturizing cream: yes, moisturizing cream is essential for oily skin! Hydration is a fundamental need for all skin types. To moisturize the skin without reinforcing shine, choose a light formula such as a fluid or emulsion. A formula containing matifying active ingredients is ideal for daytime use.
Over the years, the skin's production of collagen and elastin diminishes. External aggressors such as the sun's rays, pollution and smoking accelerate the appearance of signs of skin aging. Collagen and elastin are the skin's support fibers. They give the skin its suppleness and elasticity. They enable the skin to preserve its plumpness and natural radiance. When your body no longer produces enough of these proteins, your firming face care product takes over! In this way, you combat sagging skin, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and loss of elasticity.
Make-up removal is a privileged moment in the beauty ritual. Using a cleansing milk makes this moment a truly pleasant sensory experience. Its creamy, unctuous texture glides over the skin, providing an instant sensation of comfort and softness. It can also be used to massage the face. This promotes blood circulation and muscle relaxation. Make-up removal is transformed into a relaxing treatment interlude, soothing both your skin and your mind. This holistic cleansing experience helps you to keep your skin more radiant. The cleansing milk is particularly effective at removing even the most stubborn make-up. Its rich formula removes make-up pigments and residues, leaving skin perfectly clean. Finally, thanks to its formula rich in emollient agents, cleansing milk helps maintain skin hydration. It is particularly beneficial for dry, dehydrated skin, preserving its natural lipid balance.
Cleansing milk has multiple benefits. It provides deep make-up removal, removing mascara, foundation, lipstick and eyeshadow. This helps prevent make-up build-up on the skin, reducing the risk of clogged pores and the appearance of blackheads. Emollient properties help preserve the skin's natural hydrolipidic film. Skin remains moisturized, more supple and less prone to irritation. Sensitive skin particularly appreciates cleansing milk for its ability to gently dissolve make-up. It helps reduce feelings of discomfort and skin irritation.
NUXE's Prodigieux® radiance powder is carefully formulated using high-quality ingredients. Our vegan formula is composed of sublimating pigments that create a warm shade, similar to a light tan. These pigments are combined with a sun-kissed fragrance reminiscent of summer and warm sand. The formula has been worked to create a compact texture that impregnates your brush with a fine, airy powder. Non-comedogenic, it can be used by all skin types, even those with imperfections.
To apply NUXE sun powder evenly and without a trace, start by preparing your skin. Use a moisturizer and massage the product into your face. It's perfectly possible to use a bronzer with foundation. For an imperceptible application, use your bronzing powder sparingly. Take a small amount of powder and gently tap your brush to remove excess product. Sun powder is designed to be applied to areas of the face naturally affected by the sun. You can therefore use light circular movements on cheekbones, forehead, nose and chin. To simplify the use of your NUXE Prodigieux® radiance sun powder, use the "3" technique. Simply draw the famous number on each side of the face, starting from the forehead. Go over the temple and back over the cheekbones. Then go back down and apply along the jawline for an immediate healthy-glow effect. If you've used too much sun powder, take a clean brush and brush it over your make-up. This will allow you to pick up a little powder and give your make-up a natural finish.
The brush is the key to successful application of your NUXE sun powder. First, choose a brush with soft, supple bristles, preferably made of natural fibers. This way, you'll get a more even distribution of powder. Your brush will make blending easier, an essential step for blurring the contours of your powder and achieving a nude make-up look (bare skin). You'll need a medium to large brush with fairly dense bristles. This will enable you to pick up enough material before sweeping lightly over the skin. If you never leave your Prodigieux® radiance powder behind, slip a kabuki brush into your toiletry bag so you can apply make-up wherever you go. Don't forget to clean your brush several times a week. This way, you'll always have an accessory that guarantees imperceptible application and limits the risk of imperfections.
Every day, our skin is exposed to external aggressions. Pollution, sun or wind can damage the protective film that keeps the skin hydrated. The skin dries out and its moisture balance deteriorates. Feelings of tightness appear, dehydration furrows appear, and can develop into wrinkles. Dehydrated skin also tends to lack radiance. A moisturizing facial reinforces the hydrolipidic film and provides the skin with the active ingredients it may lack.
A facial moisturizer should be chosen according to your skin type. Do you have dry skin? Choose a rich moisturizing cream that also contains plant oils to nourish the skin. Sensitive skin will also appreciate these comforting formulas. With normal skin, moisturizing is also a necessity, but you can choose the texture you like best. Don't hesitate to switch from a classic day cream in summer to a richer moisturizer in winter. Oily skin needs moisturizing too! Opt for a mattifying fluid or a light gel to limit excess sebum. These two options will also meet the needs of combination skin.
To reap the full benefits of your facial moisturizer, apply it morning and night to cleansed skin. Take a few minutes for a relaxing self-massage: Take a dab of Moisturizing Facial Treatment and warm it between the palms of your hands. Apply to face, neck and décolleté with the flat of your hand, working from the center of the face outwards. Follow with circular movements from the base of the neck to the forehead. Finally, use fingertips to smooth in the skin from the center of the face outwards. Conclude by pressing the palms of your hands against your face for a few seconds.
The skin is the body's largest organ. It is constantly exposed to external aggressors such as the sun, wind, pollution, rubbing of clothing and temperature changes. That's why it's so important to apply a special body cream to help maintain a good level of hydration. Each application reinforces the skin's natural barrier, leaving it stronger and more supple. A body cream provides the skin with the nutrients it needs to stay young, soft and radiant. With a body cream, you'll: Prevent skin dryness.
Improve skin suppleness.
Restore very dry areas such as knees and elbows.
Soften calluses.
Reduce the risk of itching caused by dry skin.
Forget the "crocodile-skin" look of dry skin.
The application of a body cream is also an opportunity to treat yourself to a rejuvenating pampering interlude. These few minutes dedicated to your well-being are a relaxing appointment that's easy to set up.
We recommend applying your moisturizing or nourishing body cream morning and/or evening. Always try to use it after a shower or bath to restore the skin's hydrolipidic film. Pay particular attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees and heels. If you have very dry skin or work in a dry environment, apply your body cream as soon as you feel a sensation of discomfort such as tightness or itching. After-sun body creams should be applied after each exposure to the sun.
The skin on the body is subjected to repeated rubbing by clothing. It is therefore generally thicker, drier and dehydrated than facial skin. For soft, comfortable skin, you need to take care of your body on a daily basis - The basis of the body routine is cleansing. Once or twice a week, use a body scrub, concentrating on the thickest areas, to remove dead cells and soften the skin.apply a daily body care product adapted to your skin's needs: a rich, nourishing product for dry, uncomfortable skin, a moisturizing product for skin that feels slightly tight. Certain specific areas (sun-exposed areas, armpits, hands, feet, etc.) also require special attention: sun protection, deodorant, hand care, foot care.
The most important thing you can do to moisturize your body is to drink enough water every day (at least 1.5 to 2 liters). Then choose a moisturizing body care product whose fragrance and texture you particularly like. This will make you want to use it every day. Milk, oil, cream, balm... the choice is yours.
The effects of aging can also be seen on the skin of the body: it becomes thinner, looser, less supple and less elastic, and on exposed areas such as the back of the hands, spots can appear. For these mature skins, it's best to choose a body care product with anti-aging properties, to smooth and firm the skin.
For very dry skin, the first step is to choose an appropriate superfatted cleansing gel. Very gentle on the skin, it will also help preserve its barrier function. It is then essential to apply a body care product ultra-nourishing to replenish skin lipids and relieve discomfort.
Atopic skin is linked to a lack of permanent lipids in the skin: it's very dry, constantly tight and possibly reactive. Apart from inflammatory episodes (eczema), during which dermatological care is necessary, atopic skin needs ultra-respectful cleansing products (gentle and surgras) and ultra-nourishing, lipid-rich products.
If you want to regain firmer skin, start with a few simple gestures and a healthy lifestyle: exercise, a balanced diet...
There are also skin care products that have a specific action on loss of firmness, such as the Nuxuriance Ultra Body Cream Body Cream (age-related loss of firmness) and the Rêve de thé firming cream. It provides an immediate toning sensation and helps skin firm up day after day. Our application tips: perform a sculpting self-massage combining upward smoothing movements on legs and arms and toning pinches (hips, underarms, thighs).
When skin stretches rapidly, support fibers (collagen and elastin) break down and stretch marks appear. Stretch marks affect both men and women. So how do you reduce stretch marks and prevent them from appearing?
Stretch marks appear when the skin can no longer keep up with body changes (weight gain, pregnancy or growth). Stretch marks are scars that initially appear purplish, then turn white. When they are still colored and therefore in an inflammatory stage, it is possible to effectively reduce their appearance. White stretch marks, on the other hand, are more difficult to reduce.
Stretch marks can be difficult to avoid. Nevertheless, there are ways of trying to prevent them from taking hold: nourish and moisturize your skin every day! The earlier you get into the habit, the better. Make this ritual a privileged moment with effective, sensorial skin care products such asHuile Prodigieuse® which envelops your body in an enchanting fragrance. This iconic multi-functional treatment with 7 precious plant oils nourishes and repairs the skin in a single step.
Exfoliating eliminates dead surface cells and stimulates the skin's natural renewal process, so we recommend exfoliating 1-2 times a week for smoother, more radiant skin, and to enhance the effectiveness of the skincare products you apply afterwards. Remember to exfoliate just before waxing, as removing dead skin cells makes it easier to remove hair and prevent ingrown hairs.Don't forget to exfoliate before going out in the sun, as this will help you get a more even tan. Don't give up in winter, either, to keep your skin smooth and soft despite the cold, which dries it out, and the rubbing of clothes, which makes it rough.
Unlike antiperspirants (with aluminum salts), which block perspiration, deodorants don't block this natural process; they work by neutralizing odors and absorbing moisture. At NUXE, you can choose between:- Balm deodorants, 100% natural origin, to be applied with the fingers, like a cream. A roll-on deodorant of 97% natural origin, with intelligent technology that adapts to the skin's needs for 24-hour deodorant protection and a sensation of freshness on application.
A natural deodorant is composed of natural moisture-absorbing ingredients (such as corn powder) and purifying active ingredients capable of neutralizing odors. Their effectiveness has been proven on volunteers, in the same way as conventional deodorants.
Aluminum salts in antiperspirants work by blocking perspiration. To preserve this natural biological phenomenon, it's best to use a deodorant without aluminum salts. It absorbs moisture while naturally neutralizing odors.
Underarm odors are all different. For each individual, it depends on the quantity of sweat, its composition and the various micro-organisms living under our armpits (which transform sweat into odorant molecules). In the event of a strong odor, you need to identify the primary cause affecting you. If it's linked to a very large quantity of sweat, we recommend using an antiperspirant. Otherwise, you should try out different deodorants. Each may have a different mode of action (either more on the odor itself, or on skin micro-organisms, or both). The best thing is to identify the one that works for you.

Addicted to the enchanting fragrances of Huiles Prodigieuses®, you'll also find their irresistible scents in your shower gel! Finally, as you leave the shower, you'll have the opportunity to perfect your cleansing care with a moisturizer or the famous Huile Prodigieuse® to moisturize and leave your skin satin-smooth.
On the face, use it alone (1 spray) or by mixing a few drops in the palm of your hand with your NUXE cream. Apply with smoothing movements from the center to the contours of the face. Men will also love it as a beard treatment, to make beards supple and silky.
Apply Huile Prodigieuse® to the body in circular movements (bust, legs, arms, etc.), concentrating on the driest areas and/or those prone to stretch marks. Your skin will be nourished, repaired and softened. Our tip: apply to slightly damp skin after getting out of the shower. In winter, or if you have very dry skin, opt for Huile Prodigieuse® Riche with its fluid yet generous texture. You can also use Huile Prodigieuse® to finish off a manicure, unifying the nail contour while moisturizing and improving the appearance of cuticles.
Spray 1 to 2 sprays in the palm of your hand and apply to lengths and ends, as often as needed. For an intense conditioning effect, apply once or twice a week like a mask all over your hair. Leave in for at least 10 minutes before shampooing.
A hybrid between skincare and make-up, this express illuminator offers irresistible iridescent radiance without a greasy finish, thanks to its inimitable dry-touch texture enriched with golden pearlizers. On the face, apply in small dabs with a flat brush or fingertips, focusing on the face's points of light: cheekbone, bridge of nose, forehead, above the eyebrows.
Yes, it's perfectly possible to apply make-up over Huile Prodigieuse®. Its dry oil texture penetrates quickly after application. By moisturizing the skin, it even optimizes the look of your make-up.
Although dry, our Huile Prodigieuse® is, as its name suggests, an oil, and therefore a greasy product. If the fabric comes into contact with the skin before the product is fully absorbed, stains may appear.
If the garment has just been stained, wash it immediately. The more time passes, the more difficult it will be to remove the stain. To remove these stains, we recommend the use of specific products for oily stains, such as natural terre de sommières.
Finally, for delicate fabrics, we invite you to consult a professional for further advice.
Exposure to the sun must be gradual, and your protection, applied in sufficient quantity, must be renewed every two hours and after every bath, whatever the protection factor.
It's important to choose your sun protection factor according to your skin's sensitivity to the sun and the intensity of the sun (for example, at altitude and in the tropics, you need to increase the sun protection factor of the product you normally use).
We remind you that it is recommended to avoid direct exposure to the sun between 12pm and 4pm.
To choose the right sun protection, you need to : - Choose the right SPF index: this depends on your skin's sensitivity to the sun (the fairer your skin is and the more it tends to redden, the higher the index should be) and the intensity of the sun (the stronger the UV index (beach, tropics, seas, glaciers), the higher the index should be) - Choose the right texture: oil, milk, cream, spray, fluid. All are equally effective, so choose according to your sensory preferences. The important thing is to feel like reapplying. - Target the area to be protected: face only or face and body. NUXE sun care products offer a wide choice of SPF levels and textures, to meet all your needs.
Yes, when the sun is shining, or when your skin is prone to pigmentation spots, we recommend that you use sun protection on your face every day. Opt for a face care product with SPF or apply a protective fluid after your cream and just before make-up.
Yes, because there's no such thing as "total" sun protection. Even with SPF 50 or 50+, UV rays still penetrate and reach the skin. Even in small quantities, this radiation activates melanin (the brown pigment that gives the skin its tanned appearance) and therefore tanning. With sun protection, the skin tans without getting sunburned, so the result is more even and longer-lasting.
Reapply every 2 hours, or more frequently if you've been swimming or toweling off.
You need to apply 2 mg/cm2 of skin to obtain the level of protection shown, i.e. approximately: 8 to 10 sprays of product (oil and spray) or the equivalent of 2 fingers of product (milk and cream) for each part of the body treated (face, arms, front of legs, back of legs, front bust, upper back, abdomen, lower back). An insufficient quantity of product reduces the level of sun protection.
To make your tan last, you need to:- avoid sunburn by using sun protection- apply an after-sun lotion every evening to moisturize the skin- continue using your NUXE Sun after-sun lotion when you return from vacation, for a guaranteed 2-week tan.
Applying an after-sun lotion every evening after a day in the sun ensures soft, repaired, moisturized skin all summer long. Its fresh texture soothes away the summer heat and helps prolong your tan.
Before opening, you have a maximum of 3 years to use the suncare product you've just bought. After opening, your product should be used within 9 months. In fact, the effectiveness of sun filters can diminish over time, especially when you take it to the beach (heat and UV!). That's why we advise you to buy a new sunscreen every year.
NUXE sunscreens contain a patented filtering complex. The result of NUXE research, it is composed of 3 organic filters and 2 esters. These ingredients have been selected for their proven effectiveness against all UV rays. Our Huile Lactée Capillaire Protectrice Hydratante NUXE Sun, contains 2 organic sun filters. They offer optimum protection against UVB and UVA rays. This protective treatment also moisturizes and restores shine to hair thanks to organic coconut and jojoba oils. We've also added panthenol to our ultra-light, non-greasy formula. This sun protection protects all hair, even color-treated hair, from UV rays, while protecting it from the effects of salt and chlorine. The composition of NUXE Sun Moisturizing Protective Milky Hair Oil is non-toxic for the marine ecosystem.
Tanning oil and sun oil are the same thing. They both contain filters to protect the skin from the sun's rays. Their SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates the level of protection against UVA and UVB rays. With the same SPF, a tanning oil is just as effective as a sun cream. However, don't forget that a sun care product does not provide 100% protection. As excessive sun exposure is dangerous for your health, we advise against sunbathing between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.. This is the time of day when the sun is most intense. With a careful, even application every 2 hours, and after every swim, your tanning oil will give you the best of its protective benefits.
Tanning oil has many benefits. Thanks to its filters, it protects during exposure to the sun. It helps prevent sunburn and premature skin photoaging. The texture of the sun oil allows nourishing active ingredients to be incorporated into the formulation, keeping skin supple and luminous, and enhancing your tan. The scents of NUXE Sun tanning oil combine sweet orange, tiare flower and vanilla. They dress the skin in a delicate fragrance evocative of summer. For even greater comfort, we've created a light oil with a satiny, non-greasy, non-sticky finish.
Thanks to its SPF 30 UVA and UVB and its composition, the tanning oil is suitable for all skin types. However, it's important to remember that to properly protect the skin, it's important to take its phototype into account. NUXE Sun High Protection SPF 30 Tanning Oil is suitable for :
-Fair skin that is sensitive to the sun in light to moderate sunlight.
-Intermediate skin types when the sun is strong, and even very strong for darker skin types.
Sun-resistant skin, even in very bright sunlight.
Very fair skin that is particularly sensitive to the sun should always use high sun protection products like NUXE Sun Tanning Sun Oil SPF 50. It is also suitable for intermediate and sun-resistant skins in strong or extremely intense sunlight.
Sun protection is essential for all skin types, including oily skin. Choose an oily skin sun care product with a light texture (to limit excess shine) and above all non-comedogenic. This means the product has been formulated with non-occlusive ingredients: they won't clog pores. For optimum protection, apply your sunscreen for oily skin every two hours. In the evening, don't forget to remove make-up, followed by a thorough cleansing to remove all traces of protective filters.
As with all sunscreens containing chemical filters, stains may appear on clothing if the fabric comes into contact with the skin before the product is fully absorbed. For this reason, we advise you not to get dressed immediately after applying sunscreen, but to wait until it has penetrated (especially for white clothing).
NUXE Sun formulas are non-toxic to the marine eco-system (tests carried out on corals, algae and bacteria representative of marine life). For protected areas, we advise you to refer to the rules of use specific to the bathing area.
The only precaution for using self-tanning mousse is the same as for all cosmetics. Before applying to the face and body, test a small area of skin. If there's no reaction, simply exfoliate before application for an even result. It's important to remember, however, that while self-tanning mousse allows you to tan without the sun, it contains no sun protection. Without SPF, your skin is not protected from the sun's harmful UV rays. Even if you use NUXE Sun self-tanning mousse, don't forget to apply sun protection adapted to your natural phototype before any exposure.
The secret to applying self-tanning cream is skin preparation. Start by cleansing and exfoliating your skin with a scrub to remove dead cells. This is essential whether you're using a gel, lotion, spray or cream. Your product will adhere better and you'll get an even application. Now it's time to apply the self-tanner. Use circular movements, starting with your feet and working your way up to your neck. Be careful not to forget certain areas such as the back of the knees or the hollow of the elbows. On the face and body, the self-tanning cream should penetrate perfectly. To obtain an even tan with your self-tanning cream, leave your skin to dry for 10 minutes. The daily application of a moisturizer will help you maintain the golden glow of your tan. You can use self-tanner every day until you achieve the healthy glow you desire.
The magic ingredient for tanning without sun exposure is dihydroxyacetone, better known as DHA. When it comes into contact with skin cells, or rather the amino acids they contain, this active ingredient creates a brown pigment. This is known as the Maillard reaction. The skin is adorned with a temporary tan similar to that produced by exposure to the sun, but without any danger. The healthy-glow effect is immediate. The golden glow fades as the skin regenerates and rids itself of dead cells. Hot baths, prolonged showers or vigorous towel rubbing accelerate the fading of self-tanning effects.
Like our skin, hair is vulnerable to the harmful effects of the sun. UV rays can damage hair structure and weaken it. The consequences of unprotected exposure to the sun are numerous. Hair becomes discolored, dry and brittle. Weakened, it loses its shine and split ends appear. That's why it's so important to apply a hair sunscreen before every exposure to the sun. And the sun isn't the only threat! Sea salt and pool chlorine also damage hair fiber. So it's a good idea to choose a hair care product that incorporates sun filters and strengthening agents to help strengthen the hair against external aggression.
NUXE Sun Moisturizing Protective Milky Hair Oil is two-phase, so don't forget to shake it. Then apply your sun protection all over your hair. Thanks to our spray bottle, you'll benefit from optimal product distribution. As with sun protection for the skin, reapply your anti-UV hair protection every 2 hours. Do the same after a dive: NUXE Sun Moisturizing Protective Milky Oil can be applied to wet hair.Protect your scalpDon't forget that your scalp is also prone to sunburn. If you have fine or thinning hair, a hat or scarf will give you extra protection.
The safety of our Huile Prodigieuse® has been evaluated in a number of normal conditions of use(daily application to the body), whatever the weather. However, it is not intended to be applied as a sun product in intense sunlight conditions (at the beach, for example), as it contains no UV protective filters.
When exposed to the sun, it is not advisable to apply perfume or eau parfum directly to the skin. Instead, we recommend spraying it onto your clothing.
The name of a perfume depends mainly on its concentration of "perfume concentrate". There are no regulations precisely defining the concentrations required to belong to a category, but classically, a perfume contains more perfume concentrate than a fragrance water.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are exceptional moments in life, requiring special vigilance. That's why we don't recommend using face care products with high concentrations of essential oils: this is the case for our certified organic NUXE face care products, Huile Prodigieuse Néroli, Very Rose lip balm and Rêve de Miel lip care products. As for scented body care products, we generally advise against them, as they are applied to a large surface area of the skin.
If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Essential oils have many virtues, but are not recommended for pregnant women. The fragrances in NUXE products may contain essential oils, which is why we advise against using them on the body during pregnancy. And when the quantity is too strong, we also advise against use on the face (this is the case for NUXE certified organic face care products, Huile Prodigieuse Neroli, Very rose lip balm and Rêve de Miel lip care products). If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Due to the presence of essential oils in their fragrances, we do not recommend using our prodigious oils (Originale, Riche, Or, Florale, Neroli) on the breasts while breastfeeding.
NUXE does not offer suncare products for babies or young children. They are intended for adults and can therefore be used from the age of 15.
Our products are designed for adults, so they can be used from the age of 15.
All NUXE products are made in France, mainly in our factory in Brittany. This is why our products always bear the words "made in France".
All our foaming/rinsing product formulas have been tested and found to be readily biodegradable.
NUXE does not test any of its products or raw materials on animals, and therefore complies with current European regulations.
And in China?
A selection of NUXE products is distributed in China. China's regulations differ from those in other countries where we operate: some imported cosmetics are tested on animals, as decided unilaterally by China, which we disapprove of. We would very much like to see these practices disappear in favor of alternative methods, and are trying to contribute to the evolution of the Chinese authorities' position on this issue.

Nature is our philosophy. Laboratoire NUXE always favors the use of ingredients of natural origin, even if sometimes the integration of synthetic ingredients is necessary for safety reasons, such as sunscreens and preservatives. The percentages of ingredients of natural origin present in our formulas are indicated on our products. For example, Huile Prodigieuse contains 98% ingredients of natural origin, and many other skincare products exceed 95%.
NUXE products contain no ingredients of animal origin, and are therefore considered Vegan, with the exception of the Rêve de Miel range and the very rose lip balm, which contain substances derived from beehives (such as honey and beeswax).
Whenever relevant, we carry out tests to ensure that our facial products are non-comedogenic. For each reference, you'll find the information on the packaging or on request at our Customer Service.
No NUXE deodorant contains aluminum salts.
The majority of our skincare products are alcohol-free. When it is present, it is to bring freshness to the product (no drying or irritating effect on the skin). In this case, it is identified in the list of ingredients as "ALCOHOL" or "ALCOHOL DENAT".
In line with its Clean formulation charter, NUXE does not use silicones. Only certain formulas still contain "non-cyclic" silicones, which add to the sensoriality of the textures. These formulas will all evolve in the near future.
NUXE products do not contain palm oil, but they may contain palm oil derivatives as emulsifiers or surfactants. Used in the right doses and carefully selected, these derivatives ensure stability and sensoriality in our formulas. Since 2019, we have been working closely with our suppliers of ingredients derived from palm oil, with the aim of constantly improving agricultural practices and transparency throughout the supply chain. Alongside other cosmetics companies, we are working to commit them to a more sustainable certification, banning agricultural practices that show little respect for people and the environment (RSPO - Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil). By the end of 2021, 80% of our ingredients derived from palm oil will be RSPO Mass Balance certified.
Gluten is a substance naturally present in cereals (wheat, barley, oats, rye, etc.) and their derived ingredients. NUXE products are mostly of natural origin, so we cannot guarantee that our formulas are completely gluten-free.
With over 30 years' experience in formulating cosmetic products, we have the highest standards of microbial protection for our formulas, while guaranteeing optimal skin tolerance. This is why we have chosen phenoxyethanol as our preservative. Used for over 60 years in cosmetics, food and medicine, and naturally present in green tea and chicory, it has a proven track record. Its safety data are frequently re-examined by the scientific experts of the SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), taking into account the most recent studies, and reconfirming its safe use every time. There is no risk of "overdosing" due to the accumulation of products containing this molecule. Today, there is no risk to your health from using cosmetics preserved with phenoxyethanol and complying with European regulations.
We regret the current polemics which are contributing to misinformation, and reiterate our commitment to offering formulas with recognized efficacy and sensoriality, in complete safety.
In line with its Clean formulation charter, NUXE does not use SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate) in its products. Only the multi-purpose shower gel NUXE Men multi-purpose shower gel still contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate of natural origin.
For many years, NUXE has been aware of the potential impact of certain cosmetic ingredients on the environment. That's why, in line with its Clean formulation charter, NUXE has never used plastic microbeads (polyethylene or polypropylene) in its exfoliating or rinsing products. We use natural ingredients such as rice, bamboo or apricot kernel powder to exfoliate the skin.
