How can you correct skin blemishes?

Comment corriger les taches sur la peau ?

Linked to sun exposure, skin aging, imperfections or hormonal fluctuations, dark spots are a major beauty concern. They affect the evenness of the complexion and dull your skin’s radiance. At NUXE, dark spot correction is based on an expert approach combining research, natural-origin cosmetology expertise and sensoriality. Our goal: to help you understand where dark spots come from and to offer skincare solutions that prevent, correct and protect your skin from their appearance.

How do dark spots appear on the skin?

To establish an effective anti-dark-spot skincare routine, it is helpful to understand the factors that promote their appearance. Although they are numerous, they all lead to the same mechanism: uneven distribution of melanocytes, which causes pigmentation spots.

  • Sun exposure

The sun is the main factor behind skin aging and the appearance of dark spots. When exposed to the sun, the skin produces melanin to protect itself from sunburn. This pigment gives you a beautiful summer tan. Over the years, repeated sun exposure on naturally aging skin disrupts melanogenesis (melanin production). It also becomes more difficult for melanin to spread evenly through the skin. Pigments accumulate locally, leading to the appearance of dark spots, known as hyperpigmentation.

  • The natural aging process

Natural aging affects our entire metabolism, including melanin production. In addition, as the skin ages, its structure becomes more fragile, making it harder for melanin to spread evenly.

  • Hormonal reactions

Hormonal fluctuations, particularly during pregnancy or when taking contraceptives, can promote the appearance of dark spots. Estrogens and progestins can interfere with melanocyte receptors involved in melanogenesis. Melanocytes then become more reactive to UV rays, increasing the risk of dark spots.

  • Skin lesions

An injury or an inflamed blemish can leave a mark on the skin: this is known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This localized inflammation triggers local melanin production as a defense mechanism. This pigmentation may persist over time.

By combining prevention, correction and protection, NUXE offers a comprehensive approach to simultaneously combat signs of aging and dark spots. The result: skin that is smoother, more even, more radiant and firmer.
