Jetting across the world for a break this summer is definitely great news for getting some well-needed R&R, but it may not be such good news for your skin. Travelling can wreak serious havoc when it comes to our complexion; being away from our beauty-cupboard can mean a huge compromise in our daily skincare routine, not to mention the hydrating-zapping time we’ll spend on the plane and skin-damage we can sustain from the sun. Follow our travel skincare tips to ensure you’re keeping your skin in top-tip condition when spending time away from home.
Shop in travel sizes
There’s no need to pull muscles in your back whilst carting your entire skincare stash across the globe. When it comes to travelling, travel sizes are your best friend - especially if you’re having to stick to carry-on liquid limits. This doesn’t have to mean compromising on your favourite products either - NUXE have a selection of pre-curated travel kits featuring our most-loved products in mini form.
The NUXE Summer Travel Kit features all of your day-to-day skincare essentials in travel size including the Rose Petals Facial Scrub, Creme Fraiche de Beauté moisturiser 48HR Moisturising Cream, Huile Prodigieuse, Rêve de Miel hand and nail cream and Nuxe Body Melting Shower Gel. For the Huile Prodigieuse devotee the Prodigieux Travel Pouch contains everything to coat yourself in the cult Prodigieux scent including travel sizes of Huile Prodigieuse, the Eau de Parfum, Precious scented Shower Oil, Beautifying Scented Body Lotion and a 15 ml Crème fraîche® de Beauté 48H moisturising cream.
Travel Beauty Tips: Go Multi-Purpose
Save on room in your beauty bag by opting for products that can be used for more than one purpose. Our cult-dry oil Huile Prodigieuse is perfect for moisturising and softening the skin, body and hair making it an absolute travel essential. Use it as a nourishing moisturiser for the face or body, a hydrating hair oil, an illuminating highlighter, a relaxing bath oil or even to fade stretch marks. An all-purpose moisturising balm, such as the Reve de Miel repairing Super Balm with honey is another great addition to your carry on. Use it to add intense hydration and protection to any dry, sore or broken skin across the face and body.
Travel Skincare Routine: Check your in-flight skincare routine
Even a short-haul flight exposes our skin to recirculated, dry air which leaves the complexion seriously dehydrated and dull. Don’t compromise on your holiday glow by ensuring that you come prepared with an in-flight skincare routine. Remove your makeup with an easy cleanser such as our Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals to let the skin “breathe” as much as possible. Apply a serum suited to your skin type, then load-up on moisturiser. Our Creme Fraiche de Beaute 48H moisturising cream, found in our travel kits is a great option, keeping the complexion soft and supple for up to 48 hours.
Protect, protect and protect some more
It’s an obvious once, but never underestimate the importance of a high SPF - especially if you’re venturing closer to the equator. A good sun cream should protect against both UVA and UVB rays which not only cause initial sunburn, but are the primary cause of early ageing including wrinkles, lines and brown spots later in life. Opt for SPF 30 in the height of summer, and choose a stronger SPF 50 for your face which is more vulnerable to early ageing from sun damage. Look after the skin-post exposure by rehydrating with a soothing after sun lotion. The NUXE Sun Travel Set features three must-have products for sun protection and after-sun care including Sun Cream for Face SPF 50, our After-Sun Lotion and After-Sun Hair & Body Shampoo.
