Facial beauty advice
It is completely possible to choose products from different ranges to create a tailored routine. However, if you would like to address a specific concern (lack of hydration, wrinkles, slackening of the skin, dark spots, shine, etc.), we recommend that you choose your care products from a single range, generally formulated to provide a global action for the target concern.
1 - start by gently removing make-up from your skin
2 - then cleanse thoroughly
3 - apply your lotion or toner (depending on your routine)
4 - apply your concentrate and/or serum (depending on your routine)
5 - tap the eye contour area to gently encourage absorption
6 - finish by applying your day or night cream to your face with both hands, keeping them flat, always working outwards from the centre (avoiding the eye contour area). Continue over your neck and décolleté if you wish.
A serum is a formula with a fluid and penetrating texture that contains concentrated active ingredients designed to provide an effective response to various concerns, such as lack of moisture, uneven complexion or slackening of the skin.
It is applied to clean skin, before a day or night cream.
Although it is generally more concentrated in active ingredients than a cream, its purpose is also to prepare the skin and boost the effectiveness of your cream. These two products work in synergy. One does not replace the other. Applying two serums one after the other will not provide the comfort and hydration of a cream.
The absence of a protective hydrolipidic film on the lips means they become dehydrated more easily. It is important to apply moisturizing lip care products every day.
Our range includes 3 products designed specifically to care for lips:
The Lip Moisturizing Stick , Rêve de Miel, which moisturizes, repairs and protects lips every day. It is easy to carry with you and provides ideal protection for dry or damaged lips.
The Rose Hydrating Lip Balm , Very Rose, designed to moisturize and beautify dry or very dry lips and leave a subtle rosy sheen.
The Ultra-Nourishing and Repairing Lip Balm , Rêve de Miel, which soothes, nourishes and repairs.
It is an absolute favourite for ultra-dry or damaged lips.
You can use our balms as a night mask too. Simply apply a thicker layer to your lips before going to bed.
Removing make-up every evening is essential to keep your skin looking fresh and clear. Depending on your preferences, you can remove your make-up using a cotton pad (with a micellar water or lotion) or with your fingers using an oil or balm which you then rinse off.
Rinse-off formulas are ideal if you like to remove make-up with water or in the shower. If you are in a hurry or you want to avoid the drying effects of limescale, choose a non-rinse micellar water. Finally, oils and lotions are particularly suitable for dry skin and/or if you feel in need of extra comfort. Finally, don’t forget to apply a lotion or a toner as the finishing step after removing make-up!
Removing make-up and cleansing are two complementary steps and are essential for beautiful skin. Every evening, you should ideally spend a few minutes removing make-up and impurities (pollution residue and sebum) which have accumulated on the surface of your skin during the day. With impurities removed, your skin is then ready for the application of skincare products.
This is the first step in your morning beauty routine too. Gently cleanse excess sebum and perspiration to prepare your skin for other skincare products.
Choose your make-up remover and cleanser according to your preferences and skin type and, as a complementary step, boost your complexion’s luminosity by gently exfoliating with a peeling lotion in the evening, for example.
Double cleansing involves gently removing make-up and then cleansing your skin. It brings many benefits and these are rapidly visible. Deeper cleansing allows your skin to breathe and it looks clearer. It is better hydrated (absorbs skincare products better) and marks less rapidly.
Start by warming a few drops of an oily phase (ideally a make-up removing oil) in your hands and massage over dry skin, keeping your eyes closed. This will remove all fatty substances such as sebum and make-up. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water before cleansing to remove other impurities such as pollution and perspiration to ensure a perfect result. We recommend using a gentle cleanser (gel, foam or lotion), applied to damp skin and then rinsed thoroughly. This will allow your skin to reap all the benefits of your other skincare products and maximise the effects of your beauty routine!
Body beauty advice
Skin on the body is subject to repeated friction from clothing. This means it is generally thicker, dryer and more dehydrated than the skin on your face. To keep your skin feeling soft and comfortable, you need to care for your body every day.
- Cleansing is the foundation of any Body care routine. We advise daily cleansing using a gentle and/or ultra-rich cleansing gel.
- Once or twice a week, use a body scrub, paying particular attention to the thickest areas of skin, to remove dead skin cells and soften the skin.
- Apply a body care product tailored to your skin’s needs every day: a rich and nourishing product for dry and uncomfortable skin, or a moisturizing product for skin that feels slightly tight
Some specific areas (over-exposed areas, armpits, hands, feet, etc.) also need special attention: sun protection, deodorant, hand care, foot care.
If you would like to boost your skin’s firmness, start with a few simple steps and a good lifestyle: exercise, balanced diet, etc.
You can also find care products with a specific action on loss of firmness, such as the Nuxuriance Ultra Body Cream (loss of firmness linked to aging) and the Rêve de thé Firming Cream. This creates an immediate toning sensation and helps to firm skin day after day. Our application advice: carry out a sculpting self-massage combining upward smoothing movements on your legs and arms with toning pinches (hips, under the arms, thighs).
When skin stretches rapidly, the support fibres (collagen and elastin) slacken and stretch marks appear. Also known as ‘striae’, these marks affect both women and men. So what can you do to fade stretch marks and stop them appearing in the first place?
Stretch marks appear when the skin can no longer adapt to changes in the body (weight gain, pregnancy or growth). These marks are actually scars which are initially purplish in colour and then gradually become white. When they are still coloured, and therefore at an inflammatory stage, it is possible to effectively reduce their appearance. However, this is more difficult with white stretch marks.
Stretch marks are sometimes difficult to avoid. However, there are some solutions you can try to stop them appearing: nourish and moisturize your skin every day! The earlier you adopt this habit the better. Make this ritual a special moment with effective and sensorial products, such as Huile Prodigieuse® that will cloak your body in a captivating scent. This iconic multi-purpose care product encapsulating 7 precious botanical oils nourishes and replenishes the skin in a single step.
A scrub removes dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and therefore stimulates its natural renewal process.
We recommend exfoliating your body once or twice a week for smoother and more radiant skin, and to boost the effectiveness of subsequent skincare products. Remember to use a scrub just before waxing, as removing dead skin cells will allow easier hair removal and help to prevent ingrown hairs.
And it’s also a good idea to use a scrub before a holiday in the sun, to make your tan more even. When you get back from your holiday, to reveal a luminous tan, exfoliate again to remove the layer of dead skin cells that is making your skin appear dull.
Don’t let this good habit slip in winter, you still need to exfoliate your skin to keep it feeling soft and smooth and counteract the drying effects of cold weather and rough patches caused by friction from clothes.
Unlike anti-perspirants (with aluminium salts) which block perspiration, deodorants do not obstruct this natural process and instead act by neutralising odours and absorbing humidity.
NUXE offers you the choice of:
- 100% natural-origin balm deodorants which are applied with the fingertips like a cream. They provide 24h deodorant effectiveness combined with a softening action on the skin under the arms.
- a 97% natural-origin roll-on deodorant, with an intelligent technology that adapts to the skin’s needs for 24H deodorant protection and a fresh sensation on application.
How to use Huile Prodigieuse®
This instant illuminator is a care and make-up hybrid that creates an irresistible iridescent glow with no oily finish, thanks to its inimitable dry touch texture enriched with golden pearly particles.
On your face, apply by dabbing with a flat brush or your fingertips, paying particular attention to the highlight areas of the face: cheekbones, bridge of the nose, forehead above the eyebrows.
On your body, apply your Huile Prodigieuse® in circular movements (bust, legs, arms, etc.), paying particular attention to very dry areas and/or stretch marks. Your skin will be nourished, renewed and softened.
Our tip: apply to slightly damp skin after your shower. It will be absorbed even more quickly.
In winter, or if you have very dry skin, choose Huile Prodigieuse® Riche for its fluid and generous texture.
You can also use Huile Prodigieuse® as the finishing touch in a manicure. It will unify the nail contour area by moisturizing and improving the appearance of the cuticles.
Although it is dry, our Huile Prodigieuse® is, as the word ‘Huile’ indicates, an oil. This means it is a fatty product. If fabric comes into contact with the skin before the product has been completely absorbed, stains can appear.
If clothing is stained, it should be washed immediately. The more time that passes, the harder it will be to remove the stain. To remove these stains, we advise using special products designed to treat fatty stains, for example, powdered clay.
Finally, in the case of delicate fabrics, we recommend you contact a professional for more advice.
Sun: protection, tanning and advice
Exposure to the sun must be progressive and sun protection must be applied in sufficient quantity, reapplied every two hours, and always after bathing, whatever the protection factor.
It is important to choose the protection factor according to your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the intensity of the sunshine (for example, at altitude and in the tropics, use a higher protection factor than your usual product).
As a reminder, it is recommended to avoid exposure to direct sunlight between 12 pm and 4 pm.
To choose your ideal sun protection product, you need to:
- Choose the right SPF: this will depend on your skin’s sensitivity to the sun (the lighter your skin and the more susceptible it is to redness, the higher the protection factor you will need) and the intensity of the sunshine (for a stronger UV index (beach, tropics, sea, glaciers), choose a higher protection factor)
- Choose the right texture: oil, lotion, cream, spray, fluid. These are all equally effective so choose according to your sensorial preferences as what matters most is making sure you will want to reapply it.
- Target the area to be protected: just your face or your face and body.
NUXE sun care products offer a wide range of SPFs and textures to meet your every need.
You need to apply 2 mg/cm2 of skin to obtain the level of protection shown on the label, i.e. around: 8 to 10 sprays of product (oil and spray) or the equivalent of 2 fingers of product (lotion and cream) for each part of the body (face, arms, fronts of the legs, backs of the legs, front of the chest, top of the back, stomach, lower back).
If you do not apply enough product, this will reduce the level of sun protection.
For a longer lasting tan, you need to:
- avoid sunburn by using a sun protection product
- apply an after-sun lotion every evening to moisturize your skin
- keep applying your Nuxe Sun after-sun lotion after your holiday to guarantee an extra 2 weeks for your tan.

Pregnancy
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are very special moments in life and require particular care. We therefore do not recommend the use of face care products containing concentrated essential oils: this is the case for our NUXE certified Organic face care, Huile Prodigieuse Neroli, the Very rose lip balm and the Reve de Miel lip care products. With regard to fragranced body care products, we do not generally recommend these as they are applied to large areas of skin.
If in doubt, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

Tests and safety
Nuxe does not test any of its products or raw materials on animals and thus complies with European regulations.
What about China?
A selection of Nuxe products are distributed in China. Regulations in China differ from those in other countries in which we are present: some imported cosmetic products are subject to testing on animals, decided unilaterally by China, which we do not approve of. We strongly wish to see these practices replaced by alternative methods and are seeking to contribute to a change in the position of the Chinese authorities in this respect.
Composition and ingredients
We have over 30 years of experience in the formulation of cosmetic products and apply demanding requirements in relation to anti-microbial protection of formulas while guaranteeing optimum skin tolerance. This is why we have chosen phenoxyethanol as a preservative. This ingredient has been used for over 60 years in cosmetics, food and medical applications. It is also found in its natural state in green tea and chicory. It is therefore tried and tested. Its safety data is frequently re-examined by the scientific experts from the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) considering the most recent risks and its safety is reconfirmed on each occasion. There is no risk of “overdosing” linked to an accumulation of products containing this molecule. There is currently no health risk associated with using cosmetic products which contain phenoxyethanol as a preservative and comply with European regulations.
We note with regret the current controversies which are contributing to misinformation and repeat our commitment to offering formulas with recognised effectiveness and sensoriality, in complete safety.
